2nd Act of Self-Love: Practice Self-Compassion
I want you to think about a time when you recognized someone close to you is suffering or feeling bad about themselves about something that they did.
How did you respond? Probably with kindness, caring, comforting words and gestures, being supportive or you got into problem solving mode, Right?
Now think about times when you feel bad about yourself or are struggling. How do you typically respond to yourself in these situations? What are you saying to yourself?
If you are not responding in the same way as you do to others, this is where you have to make that shift and practice self-compassion. Treat yourself as you would treat others having the same experience.
When we have these experiences, we have to remind ourselves that it’s all part of the human experience. Other people have the same feelings, we are not alone and we all struggle in life.
Now, take it easy and practice self-compassion.
I encourage you to utilize a journal during these 14 days and capture all that shows up for you. Writing things down will help organize your thoughts and emotions.
