6th Act of Self-Love: Practice Writing to Yourself
Have you ever written yourself a hand written note or letter?
I did, years ago with a few other ladies. It was an encouraging letter. It felt was weird getting a letter from me, but it was perfect timing to hear my own words, telling me things were going to be alright. It was a heartfelt experience.
You should try it!
You can do this in 2 ways:
1-Write short sweet, loving, positive notes to yourself and hide them around the house. Maybe a drawer, bookcase, under your pillow etc… You will forget about it and when you least expect it, you'll find it. It will put a smile on your face.
2- Write yourself an encouraging letter, place it in an envelope, put a stamp on it. Then give it to a friend that you trust and tell them to put it in the mail for you in about a week later.
Think about words you would love to hear from someone supporting you and pouring love into you. Then write those words to yourself.
You will recognized that you can give yourself love and support that you are seeking from others. When you know you can fulfill your own needs you will feel more secure. Then when others can do the same for you, that’s even more fulfilling.
