5th Act of Self-Love: Practice Positive Self-Talk
What is self-talk? The act of talking to oneself, either aloud or silently; one's constant internal conversation (dictionary.com). Our automatic thoughts are sometimes not rationalized or justified and out of habit they can be negative.
If you find it’s hard to say positive things about yourself that’s not currently the case; it makes it even more challenging to believe it.
However; you have to speak positive statements about yourself as encouragement; until you can take action to manifest what you are affirming.
Your words influences you thoughts, which has an impact on how you feel and behave. So, choose your words wisely because what you tell yourself everyday will either lift you up or tear you down.
So, here are 2 simple rules you can follow when you want to change your negative self-talk:
- Find a way to put a positive spin on a negative thought you are having about yourself.
- Don't say anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to anyone else; especially someone you love.
